BeBest Inc. ("we", "us") operates TABI STAY (the "Site"). We respect your privacy and handle personal information in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan and other applicable laws, as set out in this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Name
- Email address and phone number
- Postal address
- Date of birth and gender (where required)
- Payment card details (processed and stored by our payment provider Stripe; we never store them)
- Booking details, stay history and special requests
- Information required for the guest register under Japanese lodging laws (for guests without an address in Japan this includes nationality and passport number)
- Cookies, IP address, browser information and access logs
2. How we use it
- To receive, confirm and manage your booking and hand it over to the property
- To contact you about your booking, changes and cancellations
- Identity verification and fraud prevention
- Billing, payment processing and refunds
- Keeping the guest register required by law
- Responding to your enquiries
- Improving our services and statistical analysis
- Sending newsletters or offers, only with your consent
- Complying with legal obligations
3. Sharing with third parties
We do not share your personal information without your consent, except:
- With the property operator, our booking system (Beds24) and our payment provider (Stripe), to the extent necessary to fulfil your booking
- Where required by law, or to protect life, health or property
- With service providers (cleaning, key management, email delivery) bound by contracts that meet this policy
Beds24 and Stripe may process data on servers outside Japan. We rely on their privacy policies and contractual safeguards to protect your information.
4. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies to make the Site work and to understand how it is used. You can disable cookies in your browser, but some features may stop working. For analytics we use privacy-friendly tools (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics) that collect aggregated statistics only.
5. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, leakage or alteration. Card details are handled solely by Stripe, a PCI DSS compliant payment provider.
6. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law (the guest register must be kept for three years), and delete it promptly afterwards.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction or deletion of your personal information, or ask us to stop using it. We will respond in accordance with applicable law. Contact:
