About this stay
A country house at the foot of the mountains in Shiso, surrounded by rivers and forest. The bathroom has a cypress (hinoki) bath. Take a walk nearby — there are hidden waterfalls and delicious local bamboo-leaf udon. Inside you are greeted by a magnificent central pillar; the rooms are spacious and full of character. At night the sky is full of stars. In winter a ski resort is about an hour's drive away. From 1 March to 30 September you can fish for amago trout (fishing permit required), and BBQ is possible in the garden — we can recommend a good local butcher. Note: the sunken hearth (irori) is decorative and cannot be used.
